Stress is becoming more and more frequent...
When workers have no influence over how to work, their work rhythm is accelerated, there are conflicts in establishing priorities, they have little recognition, insufficient support and there is little understanding from their superiors.
Indicators:
- At work: Little participation, difficulty in maintaining work hours, lack of interest in company projects
- Interpersonal: Conflicts with colleagues, complaints about the same person from different sources, little cooperation, isolation, conflicts with superiors, difficulties with family and friends
- • Health and safety: Increase in accidents (both at work and outside), taking on unnecessary risks that may endanger their own safety and that of others
- Physical: Lack of care over personal appearance, loss of weight, tired appearance, increased physical discomfort, low energy levels/productivity
- Behaviour: Fluctuation in quality and/or quantity of work having previously been consistent, difficulties in concentrating, negative attitude, mood swings
Managers have an enormous impact on their team's stress at work in terms of their:
- Proximity and/or accessibility
- Behaviour
- Drive for development or change
- Role as part of the solution
